The Cat is IN the Bag

Not quite sure where the phrase came from “the cat is out of the bag” because they always seem to be going into them…….

Woody at the Shelter in a paper bag, he moved into it the minute it hit the floor!

Boo (our cat at home) in a bag of “Christmas Nougats”! Gee do you think she really liked the smell of them? I think she thought that she was helping!

Attention All Fathers on Halloween:

October 31, 2008 at 5:24 pm (Extraordinary Things in an Ordinary Life) (, , , , , , , , , , , , )

I saw a very scary thing today…..

I stopped at the local grocery store on my way home tonight and I saw a trend of consumers.

Women (mostly mother age) all toting around a large bottle of white wine with their groceries and of course candy.  It was quite comical, every single one had a big old bottle of Chardonay!  I laughed out loud.

So ATTENTION ALL FATHERS: Be on the lookout for all the drunken housewives handing out candy to your children.  And be prepared to find your wife three sheets to the wind (where the hell did that saying ever come from anyway) when you return home with the kids.  Hey, you’re likely to “get lucky” tonight too if she’s been dipping into the chocolate along side the wine. Chocolate stirs up those happy hormones, and well you know what the wine does.

What was I doing at the grocery store?  Well certainly not buying a magnum bottle of cheap white or candy. I was getting limes and grapefruit juice to mix myself a proper drink while my man is out trick or treating with his daughter.  (Pama Pomegranate Liquor, unsweetened ruby red juice, 1/2 lime and seltzer Yum-Yum)

Boo – a Halloween toast to you!

If I only had opposable thumbs I could help put all this stuff away

August 16, 2008 at 11:28 am (Extraordinary Things in an Ordinary Life) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

Guess how I am spending my weekend?

My goal this week was to stop by the apartment every day and move a few things.  So, in the pouring rain all week we moved a whole bunch of my stuff.  Now the fun part, sorting it all out and finding a home for it here at the house.  Luckily some of it has been already put away.

This is supposed to be exciting, but I am so overwhelmed at this point.   I want to join Boo, take refuge and take a long cozy quiet nap.

But if they put all this stuff away where will I nap?

Guess it’s time to stop procrastinating…..

Oh and I forgot to tell you….We were notified by the town yesterday that we have e-coli in the water (icky- ick-ick).  Authorities state the water ban probably won’t be lifted until Monday!  Fun weekend, so in between unpacking boxes we are boiling H20.

Cat Hunting Cat Hunting Chipmunks

June 9, 2008 at 6:32 pm (Extraordinary Things in an Ordinary Life) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

This is Boo (my other half’s cat).  Look closely.

Putting it mildly, Boo is quite a territorial feline. (bad ass kitty) Although Boo is an indoor cat she protects us from any other animals, and sometimes people, that come near the house. A week or two back Boo actually chased a cat up a tree from inside the house.  She has also scared a grown man and his German Shepherd back down the driveway and into their car.

Do you see who Boo is hunting?

She is hunting the cat from next door “Alice” AKA “Smokey”, who is laying camouflaged amongst the lillys hunting the chipmunks eating the seed underneath the bird feeder.

After a hiatus I am glad to announce that Monday Chick Flick Nite has returned.  Look later tonight or tomorrow for my latest review.
